Professor Kazuhiko Yamamoto is the chairman of Asia Pacific League of Associations for Rheumatology Congress (APLAR), the Director of Rheumatology Department at Tokyo University School of Medicine, and Head of Laboratory for Autoimmune Diseases in RIkagaku KENkyusho/Institute of Physical and Chemical Research (RIKEN). He discovered the characteristics of regulatory T cells and the transcription of T cell receptor genes related to autoimmune diseases.
